Just Announced! Harper Lee’s Go Set a Watchman: A Reading by Mary Badham

Hear Scout Read Scout Live in New York

Celebrate the launch of Harper Lee’s newly discovered novel, Go Set a Watchman at the 92nd Street Y.
Mary Badham, who played Scout in the classic film adaptation of To Kill a Mockingbird, will read from both of Harper Lee’s books. Written in the 1950s, the manuscript of Go Set a Watchman was long assumed to be lost. Its recent discovery has made headlines around the world. Featuring a grown-up Scout and exploring how the characters from To Kill a Mockingbird adjust to the turbulent events transforming mid-’50s America, Watchman casts a fascinating new light on Harper Lee’s enduring classic.

Badham says, “Of course at age 10 I wasn’t aware of the impact Mockingbird had at the time, or the impact the film would have later, but it has been a special part of my life ever since. Now I am really excited about Watchman and being able to share it with Miss Nelle’s loyal and passionate fans.”

The reading will take place on Tuesday, July 14th at 7:30 pm in New York City’s 92nd Street Y.
